Since starting nursing school, I have fallen into a rut of sleep deprivation, exhaustion, stress, and eating crappy. I haven’t gained weight, but any muscle I had has turned into adipose tissue (fat!!!)!!!! It’s so frustrating when you look in the mirror and can actually SEE how unhealthy you are! I recently turned 27, and as I get older I can see gravity trying to take hold of my butt! What do we tell gravity when it comes to claim our bodies? “Not Today!” (Sorry I had to get a little Game of Thrones in there somewhere!)

So, today I finished my last day of clinical and celebrated by starting the first day of Hipcentric… it took me a while to get used to the cardio. I’m not used to all of the jumping and dancing. It’s hard since there is no instruction, you just watch and try to follow along. Hopefully whatever skills I picked up from high school cheerleading will help because I’m not a very good dancer! A lot of the movements seemed awkward, but they sure did make a lot of muscles burn! I used to work out with weights and do a lot of cardio, but it did not whittle me down… if anything it made me feel a little more bulky! Hopefully I get the results I’m looking for with TAM.

I’m vegan, and a starving nursing student, so the meal plan seemed a little unrealistic for me. It’s a lot of prep work and ingredients. I have a juicer, so I’m going to get back into juicing, protein shakes, and clean eating. I just ordered Kris Carr’s cookbooks, Crazy Sexy Kitchen and Crazy Sexy Diet. Hopefully these books will have easy to make recipes that use easier to find ingredients and yield leftovers so that I don’t have to cook everyday.

I will be keeping a log of my journey on here to keep me motivated, hopefully it keeps me on track!
